Roasted Tomato Soup
My crew used to love roasted tomato soup back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard. Soups were bitter sweet cooking on the ship, since if we were in high seas it was super easy for the soup to fly off the counter if not properly secured….I’ve had my share of cleanups.
Baked Sweet Potato & Greens
Back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard a Baked Sweet Potato & Greens would’ve been great sides to anything we served….but now that I don’t eat as much meat I leverage this simple dish by adding some walnuts for added protein!
Mango Berry Summer Drink
Back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard a Mango Berry Summer Drink would’ve been super hydrating, especially when the galley would reach 100 degrees while sailing off the coast of Central America.
Blueberry Mojito Mocktail
Back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard something like a Blueberry Mojito Mocktail would’ve been perfect, since everyday underway was technically “Dry January”.
Breakfast Mango Smoothie
Back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard we didn’t do many Breakfast Mango Smoothie orders for the 150-200 sailors on my ship….that would’ve been a pain in the ass! But damn this one is tasty!
Plant Based Stir Fry
Back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard a Plant Based Stir Fry would’ve probably pissed some people off (me included) unless I added some kinda meat into the mix….BUT NOW I make plant based stir fry recipes often, sometimes adding meat but not usually. If you do want to add meat, I’d suggest something like teriyaki style chicken/shrimp/beef/etc.
Easy Asian Marinade
Back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard my “Easy Asian Marinade” game had to be on point or I was getting thrown OVERBOARD!
This super easy & quick marinade is perfect for a nice asian flavor to add to your meal preps or family dinners. You can marinade anything you want in this stuff, it’ll be sure to do the trick!
Overnight Oatmeal Prep
Back when I was a Salty Chef in the U.S. Coast Guard breakfast was super important…these Reese Overnight Oats would’ve been a huge hit! I used to know my entire crew’s individual egg order…if they liked it over easy, medium, etc…..and if over medium did they like it closer to easy or hard….kinda funny to think about now.
